SISB Schools Celebrates 25 Years of Discovering Excellence | theAsianparent Thailand

BANGKOK, THAILAND (August 17, 2026) — SISB Schools celebrates its 25th Anniversary this year, marking a significant chapter in its journey of education excellence and nurturing generations of Scholars, Leaders and Global Citizens. Under the theme, “Honouring Our Past, Inspiring Our Future”, the anniversary celebrates SISB’s journey since 2001 and looks ahead to the opportunities that lie ahead for future generations of students.

A Vision Takes Shape

SISB’s journey began with just 35 students at its first campus in Ekkamai, Bangkok, and a vision to bring the strengths of the Singapore education to students in Thailand. Reflecting on the journey, Mr. Kelvin Koh, Co-Founder and Chair of the SISB Schools Governing Board, shares, “SISB was founded by a group of parents with one simple vision: to bring the Singapore curriculum to communities in Thailand.”

“The Singapore curriculum has always been known for its strengths in Mathematics and Science, but we also saw the importance of building strong foundations in English, Chinese and Thai. Together, we believed these would give our students a strong foundation to build as they progressed through their education.”

Expanding Pathways and Opportunities

From these humble beginnings, the school continued to grow and evolve its academic offerings. In 2006, SISB became an official International Primary School Examination (iPSLE) Examination Centre in Thailand, allowing students to benchmark their academic performance against Singapore’s education system.

Over the years, SISB expanded its Secondary programme to include the Cambridge IGCSE and International A/AS Levels, and followed by the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in 2019, giving students greater choice in shaping their academic future.

Alongside the development of its academic programmes, SISB gradually expanded its presence to serve more communities in Thailand. Today, SISB has six campuses,  with four schools in Bangkok Metropolitan Region (Pracha Uthit, Suvarnabhumi, Thonburi, and Nonthaburi), and two campuses in Chiangmai and Rayong province, providing education from Nursery to Sixth Form.

Through this growth, SISB has continued to bring its holistic approach to education, creating learning environments and introducing co-curricular activities where students can discover their strengths, pursue their interests and reach their fullest potential.

Twenty-five years on, the impact of the school’s educational journey can be seen through the achievements of its students and graduates. This year, the Graduating Class of 2026 received more than 250 university offers from over 90 universities around the world, opening doors to further study across different countries and disciplines. For SISB, these achievements represent more than university offers; they reflect the foundations students have built throughout their education, opening doors to greater opportunities for their future.

Looking to the Future: Marina Singapore International School

SISB Schools 25th Anniversary

As SISB looks ahead to its next chapter, it does so with gratitude for the community that has shaped its first 25 years and optimism for the generations to come. Building on its experience, the school will continue to evolve its approach to education while staying true to the foundations that guided its very journey.

This next chapter is already taking shape with the introduction of Marina Singapore International School, its new sister school aimed to make quality education more accessible to the next generation of students and families. Building on 25 years of SISB’s experience, Marina represents a new expression of the foundations that have shaped SISB’s journey.

Located within the Supalai Community Living Hub in Rangsit, a 278-rai integrated living and education ecosystem, Marina Singapore International School serves as the development’s education anchor and will be welcoming students from Nursery 1 to Primary 4 in its inaugural year in August 2027, before progressively expanding through to Grade 12.

To commemorate this new milestone, SISB invites its community and the wider public to join in celebrating its Silver Jubilee, honouring 25 years of its journey while looking forward to the future.
