Mitihoon – SCGD Accelerates Growth, Unveils 5-Year Plan Targeting EBITDA of Baht 4.5 Billion and EPS Growth of 2x by 2031, Strengthening Thailand-Vietnam Capabilities to Translate Customer Insight into ASEAN Growth

Bangkok: SCG Decor Public Company Limited (“SCGD”), a leader in Decorative Surface and sanitaryware in ASEAN, is moving forward into the next phase of its growth toward becoming a fully integrated leader in interior products in ASEAN. This follows three years in which the company has laid a strong business foundation, including improving operational efficiency and restructuring and consolidating production for its core tile and sanitaryware businesses. The company has set a target for 2031 to raise EBITDA to Baht 4,500 million and to grow earnings per share (EPS) by two times, through three key strategies: expansion into new product businesses, profit enhancement through production consolidation in ASEAN, and capturing growth opportunities in Vietnam, alongside positioning Vietnam as the region’s production and export hub.

Mr. Numpol Malichai, Chief Executive Officer and President of SCG Decor Public Company Limited (“SCGD”), stated: “The company has delivered strong operating results, having continuously improved its profitability over the past three years since listing on the Stock Exchange, despite facing challenges from a slowing domestic market as well as the impact of Baht appreciation on overseas revenue upon conversion into Baht. The company is now well positioned to enter a new phase of growth, driven by expansion into new product businesses, production consolidation in ASEAN, and growth opportunities in the Vietnamese market, which will help strengthen competitiveness and generate quality long-term growth.”

Building on New Product Lines and New Distribution Channels, Advancing Toward Becoming a Fully Integrated Leader in Interior Products in ASEAN

SCGD is advancing its product portfolio beyond tiles and sanitaryware to cover interior products that better serve residential living and increasingly diverse consumer needs. These include SPC, a waterproof flooring material that is easy to install and resembles natural wood; Smart Toilets, or intelligent sanitaryware featuring designs and functions supported by modern technology and innovation; door and window products; and kitchen and bathroom furniture. Sales from these new product groups have grown by more than 90% over the past four years.

The company is also proceeding with establishing Thailand as its primary production base for product development and improved production efficiency, in order to compete with imported goods, by building manufacturing excellence through partnerships to acquire technology and innovation—such as its Smart Toilet joint venture with AXENT, a global smart toilet producer from China. In addition, the company has expanded its distribution channels and business opportunities in the ASEAN market, particularly in Malaysia, which has the fifth-largest ceramics market in ASEAN, to serve as an additional distribution channel complementing its portfolio.

Enhancing Competitiveness, Strengthening Long-Term Efficiency

Another key factor SCGD is prioritizing is enhancing profitability by leveraging its scale across ASEAN and continuously improving operational efficiency. This concept is being advanced through its ASEAN Consolidation and Regional Optimization strategies, which aim to align the role of each production base with the respective strengths of each country.

In Thailand, SCGD is in the process of implementing a ceramic tile and glazed porcelain production consolidation project through its Plant Consolidation initiative, aimed at increasing capacity utilization, reducing unit costs, upgrading production of High Value Added (HVA) products, and enhancing competitiveness against imported goods. The project is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2027 and, once fully operational, is projected to generate approximately Baht 380 million in additional EBITDA per year.

Capturing Growth Opportunities in Vietnam, and Positioning Vietnam as the Region’s Production and Export Hub, Driving Growth Across ASEAN

SCGD views Vietnam as one of its key strategic markets for long-term growth, supported by factors such as economic expansion, public sector investment, growth in the middle-to-upper income population, and recovery in the housing market—all of which are expected to drive future demand for decorative materials and High Value Added (HVA) products. PRIME Vietnam is a leader in the tile business, having understood Vietnamese consumers for more than 25 years, drawing on insights into customer behavior and needs to continuously develop products that meet market demand. PRIME currently offers more than 5,000 SKUs covering a wide range of designs and functions, including large-format glazed porcelain, outdoor tiles, natural wood-look tiles, slip-resistant tiles for wet areas, and luminescent tiles, catering to demand spanning residential housing, commercial buildings, hotels, and real estate projects.

PRIME’s strength is further reflected in its receipt of the Top Influential Brand 2025 award, serving as further confirmation of its status as a brand well recognized by consumers in the Vietnamese market.

“Growth in the ASEAN market does not depend on business expansion alone; it must begin with understanding customers and translating that understanding into products that meet market demand—something PRIME has continuously built over more than 25 years, both in terms of products and its nationwide distribution network. These form an important foundation for further expanding our business in Vietnam and the broader ASEAN market.”

For Vietnam, SCGD envisions the country playing a dual role as both a production and export base and a key market with long-term growth potential, particularly for glazed porcelain products, which offer cost competitiveness and can serve as a base to support exports to other ASEAN markets such as the Philippines and Indonesia.

At the same time, SCGD will apply the concept of Regional Optimization to connect the respective strengths of each country, with Thailand playing a role in product development and production efficiency, while Vietnam serves as the production and export base to support expansion into opportunities across the ASEAN market.

“Building on the foundation we have laid, SCGD will continue to advance growth over the next five years by expanding our product portfolio, improving operational efficiency, and connecting the strengths of each market in ASEAN, in order to enhance profitability and generate sustained growth—targeting EBITDA of Baht 4,500 million and EPS growth of two times by 2031, with a near-term EBITDA target of Baht 3,500 million in 2028,” Mr. Numpol concluded.
